Issues at Wagah and Karachi ports would be addressed through diplomatic channels, Muttaqi 

KABUL: The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, has met with the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce and Investment and a number of traders.

In a statement the chamber said that the traders asked Mawlavi Muttaqi to engage with officials from India and Pakistan to address the transit challenges arising from recent tensions between the two countries.

The statement also highlighted that many transit goods belonging to Afghan traders are currently stuck at the Karachi and Wagah ports, and immediate permission for their passage is necessary.

Meanwhile, Minister Muttaqi said: “I’m aware of the issues faced by Afghan traders and that the ministry’s technical team is working to resolve these problems through diplomatic channels”.
