KABUL: Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, while delivering speeches at the 51st meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Istanbul, Turkey, talked about various issues related to Afghanistan and the region.
He began his speech by referencing the current situation in the Middle East, calling the Israeli regime’s attacks on Gaza and Iran as clear violations of international law.
Mawlavi Muttaqi described the region as facing a crisis that has left the younger generation feeling disillusioned. He urged Islamic countries to inspire future generations with the values of Islamic civilization and history instead of external influences.
He identified the ongoing actions of the Israeli regime as a serious threat to the security of the entire region and the world, calling on member states of the OIC to work towards preventing this situation.
“This meeting should not only be a place for recording challenges but also serve as the beginning of defining practical actions, unified positions, and innovative solutions,” he stated.
In his address, Mawlavi Muttaqi also discussed the current situation in Afghanistan, emphasizing that the country is entering a phase of independence, stability, and reconstruction after years of war, foreign interference, and occupation.
He highlighted the progress made in Afghanistan over the past nearly four years in terms of economic development, political stability, and foreign relations, while also calling for the release of Afghanistan’s frozen assets.
