Cabinet discusses land acquisition for railway and water transfer from Shah Wa Arous dam

KABUL: A regular cabinet meeting chaired by Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, the Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate, was held to discuss key issues.

According to a statement from Arg on Monday night, the meeting focused on the acquisition of land for the fourth phase of the Khaf-Herat railway and the transfer of water from the “Shah Wa Arous” dam in the Shakardara district of Kabul.

The cabinet assigned a committee led by the Ministry of Finance to closely examine the land acquisition process for the railway and provide a report.

Additionally, it was directed that a meeting be held under the chairmanship of Shaikh Noorulhaq Anwar, the Director General of the Administrative Affairs Authority, to discuss the transfer of water from the Shah Wa Arous dam to other parts of Kabul. Representatives from the Ministry of Water and Energy and the Water Supply Directorate are expected to attend this meeting.

The Khaf-Herat railway is a significant project in western Afghanistan that connects the country to Iran.
