KABUL: Construction work on seven water supply networks worth 28 million Afghanis has begun in Bamyan province.
Saboor Saighani, the spokesperson for the Bamyan governor, said that the networks will be built with the financial support of the World Bank in the villages of Dahan Katok, Ali Beg, Bamsaray, Char Cheshma, Qala Sabzi, Kohna Qala, and Qom Jok, which are part of the center of Bamyan.
Once completed, 1,027 families will gain access to safe drinking water.
The practical implementation of the networks will be carried out by the Aga Khan Foundation under the supervision of the Directorate of Rural Rehabilitation and Development of Bamyan.
In addition to benefiting the mentioned families, the projects will also address water shortages in eight mosques, one school, and two educational institutions.
Efforts to ensure safe drinking water for citizens are ongoing in various provinces across the country.
