ICRC in collaboration with IEA working in capacity-building and training projects

KABUL: The head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Afghanistan Katharina Ritz, has reassured the Deputy Political Minster of Foreign Affairs Sher Mohammad Abas Stanikzai about the continuation of the institution’s activities in Afghanistan, Abdul Qahar Balkhi said in a statement on his X platform on Tuesday.

In the meeting, the head of ICRC stated that the institution has been working with long-term activities in various sectors such as mine clearance, food, medicine, water supply, and healthcare services in Afghanistan.

 “The ICRC in Afghanistan is currently working in several capacity-building and training projects and will implement it in collaboration with the Islamic Emirate,” the statement quoted Katharina Ritz as saying.

Meanwhile, Sher Mohammad Abas Stanikzai, said that the ICRC with its longstanding activities was alongside the people of Afghanistan in difficult circumstances.

He on behalf of the Islamic Emirate, he assured cooperation with this institution in Afghanistan.

 The International Committee of the Red Cross is a global humanitarian organization that is currently involved in humanitarian activities in Afghanistan, particularly in the field of healthcare services.
