KABUL: A meeting of the National Procurement Commission, chaired by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, has approved six projects valued at 3.8 billion Afghanis.
The Deputy Prime Minister’s office said in a statement today, that the approved projects included the completion of remaining works at the 200-bed hospital in Kunar province, construction of a cold storage facility with a capacity of 400 metric tons in Paktika province, the construction of a 25-kilometer road from the center of Faryab province to the Firdous district, and the completion of electricity supply projects in several provinces.
The statement indicated that a total of 30 projects were presented during the meeting, of which 20 projects underwent some modifications, six projects were approved, and four others were assigned to a designated committee to negotiate pricing with the winning companies and report back.
According to the statement, the projects will be financed from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan budget.
This comes as the National Procurement Commission consistently approves large developmental projects after comprehensive evaluations in its meetings.
