KABUL: The seventh summit of Central Asian leaders, including Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan, is being hosted in Tashkent.
Yahoo News reported that the summit is taking place on November 15 to 16.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of Uzbekistan, stated in an article published in the national media ahead of the summit that peace and prosperity in the region are impossible without integrating Afghanistan into regional economic processes.
Mirziyoyev emphasized that the peace and stability of Afghanistan directly affect the security of Central Asia.
Azerbaijan is expected to participate as a special guest at the seventh summit of Central Asian leaders.
According to the agenda of the summit, Central Asian leaders will discuss priority joint projects. Additionally, discussions on important regional and international issues are noted as key topics for conversation among the leaders of the five Central Asian countries.
This summit is being held at a time when Afghanistan remains a crucial route for energy and oil and gas projects from Central Asian countries to South Asia.
