KABUL: The High Commission for Addressing Refugee Issues, said in a statement today that 11,738 Afghan migrants were expelled from Pakistan and returned home in a single day.
According to the statement, 5,070 migrants entered Afghanistan through the Bahramcha crossing in Helmand province, 5,533 through the Spin Boldak crossing in Kandahar province, and 1,135 others via the Torkham crossing in Nangarhar province after being expelled from Pakistan.
The High Commission stated that this number of migrants comprises members of 2,073 families.
The statement noted that these migrants were registered upon their return to the country through the registration committee of the High Commission for the Problems of Refugees.
This comes amid ongoing daily forced expulsions of Afghan migrants from Pakistan and their return to Afghanistan.
