KABUL: Contracts for the construction of two road projects worth nearly one billion Afghanis have been signed in Parwan province.
Mohammad Ashraf Haqshenas, spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Works, said today that the projects include the construction of a 20-kilometer public road in the Koh-e-Safi district of Parwan and the remaining work on the Kabul-Parwan highway from the junction in Bagram district to the Jabal al-Siraj district.
He stated that the cost of the first project is 641 million Afghanis, while the second project amounts to 342 million Afghanis.
He added that the practical work on these significant projects is expected to begin soon.
The construction of the Kabul-Parwan road from the Bagram junction to Jabal al-Siraj is a continuation of unfinished work from the previous administration.
Additionally, the road in the Koh-e-Safi district is considered a basic necessity for the residents of this remote and less developed area of Parwan.
