KABUL: The country’s Minister of Higher Education Shaikh Neda Mohammad Nadeem, during his stay in Iran has met with Ali Akbar Velayati, senior advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on international affairs.
Hafiz Ziaullah Hashemi, spokesperson for the Ministry of Higher Education, said in a statement on Tuesday evening, that during the meeting, Velayati expressed Tehran’s readiness for any cooperation aimed at strengthening and advancing the medical and technical sectors of higher education in Afghanistan, referring to the two countries as brotherly neighbors.
Minister Nadeem provided comprehensive information about the achievements and progress in Afghan universities and the higher education sector.
He emphasized the need for Afghanistan in the medical and technical fields and called for increased scientific collaboration and coordination between Kabul and Tehran.
As part of his visit, Nadeem also toured the laboratories and libraries of the Islamic Azad University in Iran, an esteemed educational institution in the country, which currently hosts 1.5 million students from forty different countries and employs 20,000 educators.
