Afghan and Iranian officials discuss strengthening trade relations

HERAT: Herat Governor Shaikh Maulana Islamjar met with Ali Reza Marhamati, the Iranian Consul General, to discuss various issues related to enhancing trade and transit relations.

According to provincial officials, the meeting focused on improving economic and transit ties between Afghanistan and Iran.

The Herat governor emphasized the importance of facilitating trade and transit between the two countries, expressing confidence that the Islamic Emirate is fully prepared to support these efforts.

It is noteworthy that following the closure of trade routes with Pakistan in recent months, there has been an increase in trade between Afghanistan and Iran, which has also led to a rise in Afghanistan’s exports to other countries through this route.
