JALALABAD: Spokesperson of the Nangarhar police Sayed Tayeb Hammad said on Tuesday, that a section of a stone mine collapsed, leading to the death of two miners and injuring another.
The fatal accident occurred in the Mamand Tournaw area, which is part of the Spin Ghar district of Nangarhar, he said adding that two individuals were trapped under the rocks and debris, resulting in one death and another injury.
Health sources in Nangarhar have reported that the condition of the injured individual is satisfactory.
Previously, similar incidents in coal mines in the northern provinces of Afghanistan have also resulted in fatalities and injuries among miners.
