KABUL: Amnesty International has called for a transparent investigation into the recent attack on a drug treatment hospital in Kabul, saying the number of victims has reached into the hundreds.
In a statement, the rights group urged a full and independent inquiry into the incident, which Afghan authorities have attributed to forces from Pakistan.
Amnesty also called on all parties involved in the conflict to respect international human rights and humanitarian law, and to protect civilian and medical facilities.
The reported strike has drawn widespread concern over civilian casualties and the safety of healthcare infrastructure in Afghanistan.
