GARDIZ: A lightning strike has claimed the life of a 28-year-old man and injured two children in the country’s eastern province of Paktia, local officials said.
The incident occurred late on Saturday night in the Makawi area of Zurmat district after lightning struck a residential house, according to the provincial disaster management authority.
The injured, a boy and a girl, are reported to be in stable condition, health officials said.
The incident comes after the national meteorological department warned of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms across multiple provinces in recent days.
