In a statement released Monday, the commission said 5,031 Afghan migrants entered the country through the Torkham border crossing in eastern Nangarhar and the Spin Boldak border crossing in Kandahar, on Sunday after being expelled from Pakistan.
The commission said 4,469 migrants entered through Torkham, while another 562 crossed through Spin Boldak and upon arrival, they received humanitarian assistance and were transported to their home areas through the commission’s transport committee.
The report comes a day after the commission also announced that more than 5,000 Afghan migrants had been forcibly deported from Pakistan in a single day.
