KABUL: A major wildfire near the northern outskirts of Reno, Nevada, has forced around 42,000 people to evacuate, while another 45,000 have been ordered to prepare for a possible evacuation.
Reuters reports that the Hawk Fire has burned approximately 13,000 acres and moved closer to residential areas of Reno, also three civilians and three emergency responders have been injured in the blaze.
Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo has declared a state of emergency in Washoe County and deployed National Guard troops and helicopters to assist with firefighting and evacuation efforts.
Fire crews continue to work to contain the blaze and protect nearby communities.
