KABUL: Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi will travel to Russia at the official invitation of the Russian government to attend a consultative meeting of the Moscow Format on Afghanistan, a source at the Foreign Ministry told Radio Omid.
According to the source, Muttaqi will participate in the meeting as Afghanistan’s official representative.
The foreign minister is also expected to hold meetings and talks with officials from various countries on the sidelines of the gathering, the source said.
The Moscow Format is a regional diplomatic platform focused on discussions concerning Afghanistan and involving Russia and a number of countries in the region.
