KABUL: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Saturday that the diplomatic activities of Abdul Jabbar Ansar, the Consul General of Afghanistan in Mashhad, Iran, are officially invalid.
Abdul Qahar Balkhi, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated in the statement, that based on the Vienna Convention and international laws, the selection of consuls in diplomatic institutions is the prerogative of the sending country.
According to him, after the announcement of the end of the consular services of the Consul Generals, they are deprived of any privileges in the host country.
The Ansar’s mission in Mashhad, has also ended, and he must return to the country, said the statement.
