KABUL: The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Minister of Public Health, Mawlavi Noor Jalal Jalali, met with Russian Health Minister Mikhail Albertovich Murashko to discuss expanding cooperation in the health sector.
According to a statement from the ministry, the meeting focused on developing long-term health cooperation between Afghanistan and Russia, strengthening the health sector and its systems, cooperating on the import of medicines, vaccines, and medical equipment, and improving health workers’ professional capacity.
The two sides also discussed transferring modern medical technologies and other healthcare-related issues.
Jalali called for greater cooperation from Russia in improving the quality of healthcare services, strengthening the professional skills of health workers, and developing modern medical facilities and technologies in Afghanistan.
The ministry said both sides emphasized the need to strengthen communication and coordination between relevant institutions to ensure the continuation and expansion of joint cooperation in the health sector.
