KABUL: The regional “Moscow Format” meeting on Afghanistan, hosted by Tehran, began on Saturday with the participation of the representatives of Russia, China, Iran and Pakistan, in capital of Iran, media reported.
According to Tasnim News Agency, in the meeting, consideration of how to increase engagement with the Islamic Emirate will be discussed.
In the meeting, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Mohammad Ali Bagheri Kani, called for the unfreezing of Afghanistan’s frozen foreign exchange.
Meanwhile, Zaker Jalali, the head of the Third Political Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has said that the Islamic Emirate will not participate in the meeting.
It is mentionable that the previous “Moscow Format” meeting was held last year in Kazan city, Russia, with the participation of representatives from Russia, China, Iran, and Pakistan.
