Afghan Boxers win two bronze medals at Asian Championships

KABUL: The General Directorate of Physical Education and Sports of Afghanistan said in a statement that the athletes of the Afghan Boxing Federation have won two bronze medals in the Asian Championships.

According to the statement, the bronze medal winners defeated their opponents and secured third place.

Mujtaba Haidari, in the 48 kg weight category, lost to his Azerbaijani opponent, and Ferdous Najeebi, in the 75 kg weight category, lost to his Uzbek opponent and won the bronze medal, said the statement.

According to the statement, the Afghan Boxers, with one win and one loss, won the bronze medals and secured third place in the Asian Boxing Championships.

The championships were held in Yakutsk city of Russia, for eleven days, with the participation of athletes from Asian countries.
