Ceasefire between Lebanon-Zionist regime encounter failure, Lebanese Officials

KABUL: After Lebanon’s interim Prime Minister spoke about the nearing of a ceasefire agreement between Beirut and Tel Aviv, Nabih Berri, the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, has reported that the ceasefire negotiations have encountered failure.

Mr. Berri made the remarks in an interview with the Arabic media outlet “Asharq Al-Awsat.”

He noted that discussions regarding a ceasefire between the Israeli regime and Lebanon have been delayed until the U.S. elections are held.

Previously, Najib Mikati, Lebanon’s Prime Minister, had expressed optimism about reaching a ceasefire after meeting with the U.S. special envoy for Middle East affairs.

It was anticipated that a ceasefire between the Israeli regime and Lebanon would be brokered by Washington before the U.S. presidential elections.

This comes amidst months of intense airstrikes by the Israeli regime on various parts of Lebanon, including the capital.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah has also targeted Israeli positions and other areas within Lebanon with missile attacks.
