KABUL: The Technical and Policy Director of the National Environmental Protection Agency, Mawlavi Zainul Abedin Abed, in a press conference in Kabul said today that in the country’s capital Kabul air pollution has decreased compared to the past.
“The National Environmental Protection Agency has prevented the movement of 4,211 smoke-emitting and air-polluting vehicles this year,” he said emphasizing that the movement of old cars and the use of low-quality fuels have contributed to Kabul’s air pollution.
Abed emphasizes that they have a six-month plan to improve the capital’s air quality.
Kabul residents also say that the capital’s weather has improved this winter compared to previous years.
