15,000 foreign nationals entered, exited Afghanistan in six months, NSIA

KABUL: The National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA) has reported that in the first six months of the current year, a total of 14,829 foreign nationals entered and exited the country through airports and land borders.
According to the recorded figures, during this period, 8,096 foreign individuals, including 420 women, entered the country, while 6,733 individuals, including 203 women, left.
The report indicates that 7,975 individuals entered through land borders, while 121 arrived by air. Of those, 1,315 came to visit the country’s ancient and historical sites, while the remaining 6,781 traveled for work and educational purposes.
The highest number of foreign nationals entered through the Nimroz border, totaling 5,046, followed by 805 at Herat’s airports and borders, 524 at the Torkham border, 350 at the Hairatan border and Balkh airport, and 326 at the Aqina border in Faryab.
The National Statistics and Information Authority states that it is also responsible for recording life events, the entry and exit of foreign nationals through airports and official borders, as well as services related to obtaining and renouncing citizenship.
