Justice Minister rejects allegations call it baseless

KABUL: Mawlavi Abdul Hakim Sharei, the Minister of Justice, in response to allegations made against him by some media outlets, stating that these reports are unrealistic, biased, and part of negative media propaganda.

Qari Barkatullah Rasooli, spokesman for the Ministry of Justice, in a statement on his Facebook, in response to reporters’ questions, he emphasized that he does not have a son named Osman’s, and none of his sons or relatives own businesses. He completely rejected claims suggesting that land had been registered in the name of his wife or family members.

Regarding lands related to Tiri Kando and the Bagrami district, the Justice Minister explained that these lands have been recognized as state property based on court decisions and have been handed over to the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock.

He stated that the entire process of land recovery was conducted in accordance with the law and Shari’a rulings, with no connection to personal interests.

Mawlavi Abdul Hakim Sharei also clarified that houses in the Senatorium area of Kabul were vacated based on court rulings and then legally rented out by the relevant ministry. He stressed that these actions were not based on ethnic, religious, or ideological biases but were purely legal matters.

He added that the Commission for Preventing Land Grabs and Recovering Illegally Seized Lands will continue its work without any pressure, stating, “Any land grabber, regardless of their ethnicity or religion, will be subject to the law.”

The Minister of Justice further mentioned that charitable organizations operate in accordance with the law and that if they violate principles, their activities will be halted based on the country’s laws.

This comes amid recent reports in some media outlets alleging that the Justice Minister has registered state lands and properties in his name and that of his family members.
