Seven water supply networks valued at 35 million Afghanis inaugurated in Kunduz and Bamyan

KABUL: The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, has announced the launch and completion of seven safe water supply networks valued at 35.23 million Afghanis (some 555,000 U.S. dollars) in Kunduz and Bamyan provinces.

In separate statements sent to Radio Omid today, the ministry reported, that the construction of a safe water supply network in Qara Ghoshi Haji Musakhon village of the Dasht-e Archi district of Kunduz has begun, while six other networks in the district of Kahmard in Bamyan have been inaugurated.

The Ministry stated that with the completion of these safe water supply networks, 587 families in Kunduz and 881 families in Bamyan now have access to safe drinking water.

The project in Kunduz cost 14.6 million Afghanis, while the networks in Bamyan cost 20.63 million Afghanis, said the statement, adding that during the implementation of the public welfare projects, job opportunities were also created for dozens of residents in Kunduz and Bamyan.

It is worth noting that the implementation of safe water supply networks continues with the aim of providing water to the citizens of the country by governmental and non-governmental entities.
