Oman, Iran hold talks on Strait of Hormuz security and shipping

KABUL: Oman says it has held discussions with Iranian officials on ensuring safe transit through the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
According to authorities in Muscat, experts from both sides exchanged views and proposals during a joint meeting, which Oman is currently reviewing.
Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates announced it is ready to join any U.S.-led efforts to enhance security in the vital waterway.
Anwar Mohammed Gargash, diplomatic adviser to the UAE president, said that targeting neighboring countries during the conflict has further strengthened the influence of the United States and Israel in the Middle East.
