KABUL: Donald Trump, president of the United States, has issued a fresh warning to Iran, saying that “a civilization could completely vanish tonight and never return.”
In a post on his social platform Truth Social on Tuesday, Trump said he does not want such an outcome but stressed that it could happen, adding that “tonight we will know,” calling it one of the most important moments in world history.
He also referred to “47 years of extortion, corruption, and death,” suggesting a possible turning point in long-running tensions.
The warning comes roughly 12 hours before the expiration of a deadline Trump set for potential strikes on Iranian civilian infrastructure, including bridges and power plants.
Trump has previously said that if Iran refuses to agree to terms, the U.S. military could target key infrastructure.
