KABUL: Ebrahim Azizi, head of the National Security Commission of Iran’s parliament, says Tehran has the right to sign an agreement with Oman to ensure security in the Strait of Hormuz.
Azizi stated that control over the strategic waterway is based on the rights of the Iranian people and is considered a national issue.
He added that once the relevant law is approved, the Strait of Hormuz will come fully under the comprehensive control of Iran’s armed forces.
He emphasized that the route holds critical strategic importance for Iran and that necessary measures will be taken to safeguard its security.
