U.S.–Iran talks begin in Islamabad

KABUL: Talks between delegations from the United States and Iran have officially begun in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.

According to Tasnim News Agency, the talks between Tehran and Washington started Saturday afternoon local time.

So far, no details have been released about the exact venue or whether the talks are being held directly or through intermediaries.

Before the talks, both delegations held separate meetings with Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan.

While the Islamabad talks are expected to last one day, it remains unclear whether they will result in a concrete agreement between the two sides.
