KABUL: At least 11 people have been killed and 30 others wounded in an attack on a police checkpoint in Dera Ismail Khan district of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
According to Al Jazeera, the attack took place today at a roadside police checkpoint.
Pakistani police officials and aid organizations said at least seven of those killed were police personnel.
The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement.
No further details have so far been provided about how the attack was carried out or the identities of the other victims.
