KABUL: A gas explosion in the Greek capital, Athens, caused a building to collapse, killing six people, including four U.S. citizens.
According to reports, the explosion occurred in Athens’ historic Plaka district and led to the collapse of a two-story building.
The bodies of six people were recovered from the scene.
U.S. media reported that documents and personal belongings found at the site confirmed the identities of the four American victims.
Greek authorities said initial indications suggest that a gas leak may have caused the explosion, but an investigation into the exact cause of the incident is still underway.
