KABUL: Zalmay Khalilzad, the former U.S. special representative for peace in Afghanistan, stated that the Pakistani military regime must accept responsibility for its “failures and disorder.”

He questioned, “Is Pakistan a sincere neighbor?”
Khalilzad urged the Pakistani military regime to respect the ceasefire and collaborate with Qatar’s commendable efforts to establish peace between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
He wrote: “Is it difficult for Pakistan to accept the reality that a neighbor it has tried to dominate and pressure for years now wishes to experience some peace and normalcy?”
The U.S. diplomat emphasized that Qatar is acting as a “sincere and benevolent” tries to maintain peace between Kabul and Islamabad.
High-ranking military delegations from Afghanistan and the Pakistani military regime are scheduled to meet today in Doha to discuss recent developments in the relations between the two countries.
