KABUL: Provincial officials of Nangarhar report that 500 kilograms of fish, smuggled from Pakistan, have been buried in a secure area after being discovered and confiscated at Torkham.
According to Nangarhar governor’s media office, the officials of the Department of Agriculture said that the exports and imports between Afghanistan and Pakistan have been halted, and no one is allowed to bring animal and plant products into the country.
Sources indicate that traders should subsequently conduct such imports in accordance with regulations from other countries.
This comes after the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, recently urged Afghan traders and industrialists to continue their businesses with countries other than Pakistan.
It is noteworthy that all trade routes remain closed by Pakistan following clashes between Afghan forces and Pakistani military personnel along the imaginary line.
