KABUL: The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation, said in a statement today that 565 Afghan citizens who were imprisoned in Iraq and Pakistan have been released.
According to the statement, 517 of these individuals were freed from Pakistani prisons, while 48 others were released from prisons in Iraq.
It was noted that each released detainee spent two months in Pakistani prisons and between six to nine months in Iraqi prisons.
The freed individuals have been sent to their respective homes after receiving necessary assistance from donor organizations active at the border crossings.
Additionally, the efforts of the Islamic Emirate to secure the release and return of Afghan citizens imprisoned in various countries continue.
