KABUL: Reports indicate that the clash between Afghan forces and the Pakistani military regime in Spin Boldak has now concluded.
Spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Mawlavi Zabihullah Mujahid, said in a statement that the conflict began on Friday night when the Pakistani military initiated the engagement.
Mawlavi Zabihullah Mujahid, stated that Afghan forces reacted in response to the aggression from the Pakistani military regime. Both light and heavy weapons were reportedly used during the clash.
A Radio Omid local reporter, citing security sources, has reported that the Pakistani military targeted civilian homes during the conflict.
Details on casualties and damage resulting from the clashes remain unclear.
This marks one of several recent confrontations between Afghan and Pakistani forces in the past two months.
Following the clashes, all border crossings between Afghanistan and Pakistan have been closed for approximately two months.
