Unexploded ordnance blast leaves three dead in Nangarhar

JALALABAD: An Explosion of an unexploded shell has resulted in the deaths of at least three individuals, security officials confirmed on Saturday night.
Sayed Tayeeb Hamaad, spokesperson for the Nangarhar Police Command, said that the explosion happened in the “Dehghazi” village in the Kama district of Nangarhar province.
The spokesman stated that the victims were targeted by the explosion while working in a metal warehouse.
Nangarhar police officials reported that two of the victims were brothers.
Unexploded ordnance periodically claims the lives of citizens in the country.
Last week, an explosion from a mortar shell in the Charchino district of Urozgan province also resulted in the deaths of three family members.
