Drones hit U.S. embassy near Baghdad airport for second day

KABUL: The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad has been targeted in a new drone attack, marking the second such incident in two days, according to media reports.

Reuters, citing sources, reported that at least three drones were used in the latest attack early Wednesday on the embassy compound in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq.

Sources said the drones struck a U.S. diplomatic facility near Baghdad International Airport, triggering the activation of C-RAM air defense systems.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage from the attack.

The strike follows similar drone and missile attacks on the embassy a day earlier.

The incidents come amid ongoing hostilities between the United States, Israel, and Iran, with tensions escalating across the region.
