KABUL: Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, has announced the signing of 10-year agreements with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar for the export and joint production of drones.
Zelenskyy said on Sunday night that the agreements include not only drone exports but also plans for joint production, with manufacturing lines expected to be established both in Ukraine and partner countries.
He added that Kyiv has also received requests from 11 other countries in the Middle East and Gulf region, with plans to expand cooperation further toward the Caucasus.
He said: “The framework includes at least 10 separate agreements covering various aspects of Ukraine’s defense exports, alongside joint development of new technologies with partner nations.”
Ukraine’s drone industry has seen rapid growth, particularly following the war with Russia, becoming a key component of its defense and export strategy.
The announcement comes as international cooperation in military technology continues to expand, with increased foreign investment expected in Ukraine’s defense sector.
