KABUL: Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry of Iran, said that the trip of a U.S. delegation to Islamabad is an internal matter for the United States and not related to Iran.
According to Tasnim News Agency, Baghaei stated that Tehran has no trust in Washington in ongoing or potential talks, citing what he described as repeated violations by the U.S.
He emphasized that Iran’s fundamental position in any talks with the United States is that trust cannot be relied upon.
His remarks come after the first round of Iran–U.S. talks hosted in Islamabad ended without any tangible outcome, with Tehran accusing Washington of breaching commitments.
