KABUL: Dr. Sayed Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of Iran, has arrived in Islamabad at the head of a delegation, Pakistani officials confirmed.
Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Foreign Minister of Pakistan, said Araghchi was received at the airport by senior officials, including Asim Munir, Pakistan’s army chief.
Meanwhile, Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, stated that no meeting between Iranian and U.S. delegations is planned during this visit.
He added that Araghchi will hold talks with senior Pakistani officials as part of Islamabad’s ongoing mediation efforts aimed at reducing tensions and restoring regional peace.
Dar expressed hope that the visit would lead to “constructive dialogue” to strengthen regional stability.
The Iranian delegation is also expected to visit Oman and Russia following the Islamabad trip.
