KABUL: At least 12 people, including six police officers, have been martyred in renewed Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian health officials.

Reuters reported on Friday night, citing Gaza-based doctors, that the attacks targeted multiple locations across the enclave.

In an airstrike in Gaza City, three people, including two police officers have been martyred, two others martyred in Beit Lahiain as a result of Israeli tank shelling, while seven people, including four police officers, were martyred in an attack on Khan Younis.

Gaza’s Interior Ministry confirmed that police forces were among those targeted in the strikes on Gaza City and Khan Younis.

The Israeli military acknowledged attacking Gaza City but did not comment on the other incidents.

According to reports, around 800 people have been martyred in Gaza since the latest ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas came into effect.
