Iran’s president and foreign minister played valuable role in regional cooperation, Mawlavi Muttaqi

KABUL: The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, in a meeting with Hassan Kazemi Qomi, the Iranian ambassador and special representative to Kabul, said that late Sayyed Ibrahim Raisi President and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahian played a valuable role in the development of regional cooperation especially, with Afghanistan, the ministry said in a statement today.
In the meeting, Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi expressed the condolences and sympathy of the Islamic Emirate and the Afghan people regarding the aircraft crash that claimed the lives of Seyyed Ibrahim Raisi, the President of the Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Foreign Minister of that country some others.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Hassan Kazemi Qomi, Iran’s ambassador and special representative, stated that the government and people of Iran received a message of condolence from the government and people of Afghanistan in the first moments of the incident.
He called the relations between the governments of Kabul and Tehran, and the peoples of Afghanistan and Iran, as cordial, and added that the Islamic Emirate will be informed of the latest information regarding the funeral ceremony.
The Iranian government has declared five days of national mourning due to the air incident and the loss of the President, the Foreign Minister, and their companions.
