KABUL: German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has expressed concern over what he described as the absence of a clear plan by the United States and Israel to bring the ongoing war with Iran to an end.
Speaking in Berlin during a meeting with the prime minister of the Czech Republic, Merz said uncertainty surrounding the conflict is growing.
“It has been about a week since the United States and Israel became involved in a war with Iran, and with each passing day questions are increasing about the future of the conflict and how it will end,” he said.
The remarks come as tensions continue to escalate in the Middle East following military exchanges between the sides.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump said the war with Iran was nearing its conclusion and could end soon.
