KABUL: Iran has reportedly rejected mediation efforts by several countries aimed at securing a ceasefire with the United States and Israel, according to Iranian media reports.
The state-affiliated news agency Tasnim News Agency, reported early Wednesday, citing the Lebanese outlet Al Mayadeen, that Tehran has so far declined requests from mediators seeking to halt the ongoing conflict.
According to the report, the Iranian government has rejected the proposals due to what it described as the need for fundamental conditions and credible guarantees.
The conditions reportedly include assurances that the war will not resume, recognition of Iran’s right to a full nuclear fuel cycle, and compensation for damages caused during the conflict.
The report did not specify which countries have attempted to mediate between the sides.
The development comes as Iran’s president has recently held telephone conversations with his counterparts in Russia and France amid efforts to address the escalating regional crisis.
