U.S. warships reportedly intercept two vessels near Iran’s Chabahar Port

KABUL: Western media outlets have reported that U.S. naval forces intercepted two vessels departing from Chabahar, a day after the United States began enforcing a naval blockade on Iran.
According to Reuters, citing an unnamed U.S. official, an American warship ordered the vessels to turn back as they attempted to leave Iranian waters via the Gulf of Oman.
The report said the ships were instructed via radio communication to return, effectively preventing their departure.
Iranian authorities have not yet commented on the claims.
The blockade, announced by U.S. President Donald Trump, reportedly began on April 13 and involves more than 12 U.S. warships, dozens of fighter jets, and around 10,000 military personnel.
However, analysts have expressed skepticism about the effectiveness of the blockade, saying it is too early to assess its impact.
