Iran says agreement with U.S. has reached final stage

KABUL: Iranian Foreign Minister Dr. Sayed Abbas Araghchi has said that the process of finalizing an agreement between Tehran and Washington has reached its final stage, though some provisions could still be revised before a formal signing.
Speaking to Iranian media, Araghchi said the negotiations are being conducted in two phases.
According to him, the first phase focuses on issues related to the Strait of Hormuz, economic sanctions, Iran’s frozen assets, and reconstruction-related matters, and the second phase will concentrate on efforts to reach an agreement regarding Iran’s nuclear program.
Araghchi added that if the agreement is finalized, it could help bring an end to ongoing conflicts and tensions on several fronts, including in Lebanon.
The remarks come amid increasing diplomatic activity and reports of renewed efforts to ease tensions between Iran and the United States.
